A Little Sewing, a Little Peace, and a Place to Share

Welcome to Bea At Home Co.! I’m Amy, and I’m so glad you’re here.I found sewing while working a stressful job. I needed something that would help me slow down, quiet my thoughts, and put the workday aside for a while. Choosing fabrics and watching something take shape, one seam at a time, became a way to relax. Somewhere along the way, that little escape turned into something I truly loved. Now, I’m making room for more of it through Bea At Home Co. My hope is to keep creating things I’m proud of, share beautiful supplies with other makers, and build a little side income as I work toward retirement—in another ten years or so! There’s still plenty of time between now and then, but I like the thought of building something I’ll enjoy carrying into that next chapter.

A Little More Room to Share

I created this website to give us a place to enjoy more than a quick product photo. Here, I can share a closer look at what I’m making, the fabrics that catch my eye, and ideas that haven’t quite made it from my notebook to my sewing table. You’ll also find a gallery of past projects, including some of my adventures in learning to longarm quilt. Every project has taught me something, and some have required considerably more patience—and seam ripping—than others!

Fewer Unfinished Projects, More Joy in Making

Do you ever feel overwhelmed by all the ideas out there? The beautiful new fabric collections, the tornado of patterns, and the projects you suddenly have to make? Me too! I love watching YouTube tutorials, FlossTube, and browsing Instagram. There’s so much talent and inspiration to enjoy—but information overload is real. Sometimes I come away with seven new project ideas instead of finishing the one already on my sewing table. And yes, I am absolutely guilty of having several unfinished projects waiting for my attention! I’m trying to learn a different rhythm, and I’d love to share that process here: slowing down, choosing fabrics and patterns intentionally, and enjoying what we already have long enough to turn it into something finished. I can’t buy every collection I fall in love with, and I imagine most of us can’t. So what if we chose one fabric line we really loved and explored everything it could become? A quilt, a coordinating pillow, a project bag, and then a little stitched-piece backing or patchwork gift made from the leftovers. Not another list we have to tackle all at once, but a thoughtful way to keep using those lovely fabrics, one finished project at a time. There’s something satisfying about looking at what you’ve made and knowing that fabric purchase was money well spent—that you enjoyed it, used it well, and found a purpose for even the little scraps.T hat’s part of what I hope to build here: a place to share coordinating project ideas, make fabric choices feel less overwhelming, and encourage each other to finish something we love before chasing every new possibility. Then we can enjoy choosing the next project—with a little less guilt and, hopefully, a little more room on the sewing table.I’m learning right alongside you. Shall we give it a try?

What Would You Love to Find?

One of the things I’m most excited about is hearing from you. I can order Riley Blake fabrics, and I bring in Tilda and Moda collections here and there. I also have access to cross-stitch designs from Teresa Kogut, Primrose Cottage through my suppliers, including Checker Distributors. While I can’t carry everything, knowing what you’re looking for helps me choose thoughtfully for this small shop. Is there a particular fabric collection or cross-stitch chart you’ve been hoping to find? Would coordinating fabrics help you finish a stitched piece? Are you looking for a project bag that holds everything comfortably, a gift for a stitching friend, or something handmade to brighten a corner of your home?I’d love to hear about it. You don’t need to have a whole project planned—even “I love these colors, but I don’t know what to make” is a lovely place to start. Send me a note at beaathomeco@icloud.com and tell me what’s on your wish list or sewing table. I can’t promise to find every item, but I’m always happy to see how I can help. Sewing has brought a little peace and a lot of happiness into my life. My hope is that something you find here—a fabric, a project idea, or a piece made by my own hands—brings a smile to yours, too.Thank you for being here and helping this little shop grow.

Warmly, Amy Bea At Home Co.
